Castelbrac, the refuge of the soul

Castelbrac was built on the side of a cliff as close as possible to the sea.

The Villa Bric à Brac, which became the Castelbrac hotel in 2015, reveals an exceptional history. Built by the English Faber family who founded Dinard, the Villa saw the succession for 130 years of an English colonel hero of the Crimean War, Robert William Hamilton, then the cream of French scientific research from the National Museum of Natural History including Commander Jean-Baptiste Charcot. Jewel of the founders of Dinard then marine resort, the Great History entered through the doors of Castelbrac.
More than a hotel, it is a place of memory and renewal.

From the Superior room to the Prestige Terrace Suite, all our rooms open onto the sea and offer identical comfort and high-end equipment. Most of them benefit from a private terrace, some are also available for people with reduced mobility. Others, via a private corridor, allow several rooms to be joined together and are particularly suitable for families with children.

As for your taste buds, Chef Julien Hennote welcomes you to the Pourquoi Pas restaurant with a panoramic view of the bay of Saint-Malo around an inventive and local cuisine distinguished by a Michelin star and two Gault & Millau toques. Discover a seasonal, authentic cuisine, focused on the Emerald Coast and its local resources. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Let yourself be seduced by the menu or the menus renewed every month. The Lord Hamilton menu, the Lyona Faber or the Jean-Baptiste Charcot gastronomic menu imagined as a culinary interlude combining the flavors, textures and colors of the Breton terroir.

The Aquarium bar, set up in the former aquarium, offers a wide menu for a relaxing moment with family or a friendly aperitif with friends. You can enjoy the house cocktails prepared by the head barman accompanied by the plates of the Aquarium of Chef Julien Hennote every day from 11am to 10pm.

Let yourself be transported back in time in the Salon Charcot, former office of Commander Charcot, renowned polar explorer. Enjoy Tea Time around a selection of refined teas and fine pastries made by our talented Pastry Chef.

Castelbrac has its own private vedette to discover the Emerald Coast and the islands. From April to October, the Fou de Bassan offers the possibility of breakfast at sunrise, picnicking on the beaches of the surrounding islands or taking tailor-made cruises.

An electric bike rental is available for hotel guests.
