An invitation to travel!
The “shipwrecked of time” gallery is a unique and atypical cultural space. The peculiarity and interest of the place lies in the choice to highlight, both traditional art and contemporary art as well as selected crafts and traditional art pieces for amateurs. It is one of the rare galleries in France to present on a permanent basis but also through temporary exhibitions, Haitian artists, African artists and French artists attached to these cultures.
Here you will find creations by Bruce Clarke, painters from Haiti like Isemorin, works by Marie Toravel, Touzé, Jean-Luc Lancelot, Sanélé Dlhomo, Eddy Saint Martin, Salfo Derme and many other artists. The Boss Metal, the art of recovery, Haitian artistic technique, will also be in the spotlight throughout the year.
A bookstore section provides the whole unit with the essential educational link, with adult literature and numerous albums for young people.
The gallery has also been enriched with a boutique space with pieces of furniture restored and decorated with ethnic fabrics and wallpapers or reminiscent of the Caribbean. You can find stools, small pieces of furniture, cushions… .. A good opportunity to have fun!
Between permanent collections and one-off exhibitions, between conferences and chatter, this space is intended to be a temple at the service of memory, heritage, dialogue between cultures, but also imagination, dreams and travel. The three dimensions of human history, the past, the present and the future, permeate the dynamics of the place to the delight of the visitor!
